Autodiscover and availability service goal in Exchange Server 2013

The autodiscover service configures user profile settings for clients running Microsoft Outlook 2007 to 2013 in addition to supported mobiles phones.
It provides access to Exchange features for Outlook 2007 to 2013 clients that are connected to your exchange messaging environment.
It uses the email address and password of the user to provide profile settings to Outlook 2007 to 2013 clients.
To check autodiscover service, use the following power shell command "Test -OutlookWebServices -Identity:user@email.com | ft * -Autosize -Wrap"

The availability service is the replacement for free/busy functionality responsible for making the user's calendar availability visible to other users making meeting requests.
It retrieves free/busy information for Exchange 2013 mailboxes, from other Exchange 2013 organizations and from public folders for mailboxes on servers that have previous versions of Exchange.

Retention policy tag in Microsoft Exchange  Server 2013

It is used to apply retention settings to folders and individual items such as email messages and voice mail. It determines how long a message remains in a mailbox and the action to be taken when the message reaches the specified retention age. When the retention age is reached, the message is moved to the user's In-Place archive or deleted.

Database Portability in Microsoft Exchange Server 2013

It is a feature that enables a mailbox database to be moved to or mounted on any other mailbox server in the same organization running Exchange 2013 that has databases with the same database schema version. Mailbox databases from previous versions of Exchange cannot be moved to a mailbox server running Exchange 2013. Database portability reduces the overall recovery times for various failure scenarios.
